Elkader Register, Thur., 26 May 1949. Strawberry Point column.
The death of Mrs. George Alderson occurred last Monday. Although not not confined to her bed, but the week previous to her death, she has been ailing for several months. It is thought she had a number of diseases. She was a good and kind mother and neighbor. Her friends were found everywhere. She leaves eight children besides relatives and friends to mourn her death. Funeral services were held at the M. E. church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. O. C. DePuy officiating.
(Note: WPA records show Mary Ann Alderson, 1849 - 23 May 1904, buried in Strawberry Point cemetery.)
