The small child of Matt Romer, of Guttenberg, was brought up here by Dr. Duffin and its mother, Friday, for treatment at the hospital. The little one had in some way gotten a kernel of corn stuck in its windpipe and an operation was necessary. It was of no avail however, and the little one chocked to death. The unhappy mother returned on the afternoon train, with her baby in a casket in the baggage car. It was a very sad case and the sympathy of all are with the sorrowing friends.
