The body of the late Carrie Evans Heffner will be shipped to Monona, Clayton county, Iowa, on Friday morning, where funeral services will be held. The husband of the deceased, Peter Heffner, died about fourteen years ago.

The above death notice appears to have several errors - as noted in a complete obit published in the Monona (transcribed below). The daughter was Carrie Evans, NOT the deceased, whose name was Amelia. The gravestone in Monona City cemetery also names her as Amelia, w/o William HEFNER, 1835-1902.
OBITUARY
Amelia Hefner was born in Germany sixty-seven years ago the 7th of October, and died of liver trouble at the home of her daughter Mrs. Evans in Dubuque, Iowa.She came to America in 1856 and was married to Peter Hefner at McGregor, Ia., the same year. Several years ago she accepted Christ as her Saviour and united with the Christian Church and was an acceptable member of that body at the time of her death.
She is survived by eight children, three sons and five daughters. Her children are as follows: Antone Hefner, of Lobe Co., S. Dak.; Peter Hefner, of Volney, Iowa; Joseph Hefner, Nora Springs, Iowa; Mrs. Amelia Lieimon, of McGregor, Ia.; Mrs. Mary Wideman, McGregor, Ia.; Mrs. Lizzie Smith, Volney, Ia.; Mrs. Anna Rethmel, Cresco, Ia.; and Mrs. Carrie Evans, of Dubuque, Iowa. All of these were present at the funeral except Antone Hefner who could not come.
The funeral was conducted from the M.E. Church in Monona, Friday at 10 a.m. by the Pastor, Rev. W.N. Brown. Burial in Monona cemetery.
