Elkader Register, Thur., 23 Oct. 1902. Colesburg column. From the Manchester Press, undated
Mrs. Frank Stone died at her home five miles north of town Tuesday evening. She had been an invalid for a number of years, at one time being unable to walk for three or four years. For the past two years she was much improved in health, until her final illness, which lasted three weeks, during which she was a great sufferer. She is survived by her husband and six children, viz., Mrs. Bailey Stewart, Frank Stone, Jr., and Hattie, Lennie, May and Pearl. The funeral was held on Thursday from the U.B. church, and was largely attended. Interment was made at the Brown cemetery. Mrs. Stone was an exemplary Christian, a faithful wife and kind mother, and has entered into her rest after many weary years of suffering.
(Note: WPA records show Adaline Stone, 1854 - 07 Oct. 1902, buried in the Brown cemetery.)
