DIED- Friday, Aug. 29, 1902, Henriette Tiede, aged seventy-five years. The deceased was born in the city of Hamburg, Germany, on the 2nd day of June, 1827. She was married at that place to Wm. Tiede in November, 184_ (looks like 1843 or 1845), and came to this country in 1851, settling at Guttenberg where she lived four years. From Guttenberg she moved to Elkport where the rest of her life was passed. She was the mother of eleven, six of whom survive her. They are: A. C. Tiede and Anna Beck, of Elkport; E. L. Tiede, of Belmond; Emma Heine, of Guttenberg; Lincoln Tiede, of Eldora; and Otto Tiede, of Kansas City, Mo. During the fifty years of her residence in Elkport, the deceased became well and favorably known. Many deeds of charity and kindness have been done by the departed, which have endeared her to our people. The funeral, Sunday, was the largest ever held in Elkport. People from the entire country were present to show their last respect for one whom all loved. Rev. Seifert, of Clayton Centre officiated. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all in their sad affliction, for in the death of their beloved mother they have lost a most noble and kind parent, and one who was always doing something to benefit her children. May she rest in peace.
