Clara Alberta Ferris, was born in Bloomington, Kans., Feb. 16th, 1882, died in North McGregor, Iowa, April 2nd, 1902, after an illness of several months. She was the oldest child of Ed Ferris and wife and came to this place at age of four. Clara was of a warm, loving disposition and a general favorite among her many friends. She never complained during her weary months of suffering, cheerful to the very last, striving to make the final parting as easy as she could to the sorrowing family. Surrounded by the bereaved relatives she passed peacefully away. Friday morning the funeral was held in the M.E. church. Rev. Dutton preached an excellent sermon in a few well chosen words. The text, "I shall be satisfied when I awake with thy likeness", was the last clause of the 17th verse of the 17th Psalm. The floral emblems were beautiful - a just tribute to the sweet young life.
