Jas. McDonald died Jan. 10, 1902, aged 70 years 15 days. Mr. McDonald was born in Scotland and came to this country in 185_ (looks like 1858 or 1859). He first landed in Guttenberg and resided in Jefferson township one year. In 1860, he, with his parents, moved to Volga township, where he has since resided. From a personal acquaintance of over twenty five years, we can truly say that no more honest, truer man that Jim McDonald was, never lived. He was strictly honest and upright in all his dealing, and his death is mourned by a large circle of friends.
