William H. Meyer was born in the province of Husum, Hanover, May 20th, 1852, and died at Guttenberg, Ia., Jan. 8th, 1902, of dropsy of the heart.
He came to America in 1868, and settled in Iowa, taking up the sewing machine and musical instrument business in 1873, at Guttenberg, and continued in the same business until his death. He has been a resident of Guttenberg for the last nineteen years and has made many friends, who will mourn with his relatives for one whose good deeds were many and whose faults are forgotten. He is survived by two brothers and three sisters, two of whom, Mrs. Carl Hein and Mrs. F. Eberling, reside south of Postville.
The remains were brought to Postville and the funeral was held from the German Lutheran church, Rev. J. Gass officiating.- Postville Review.
