Elkader Register, Thur., 21 Aug. 1879.

DIED - Talmadge - At the home of his son, in Elkport, O. G. Talmadge, of chronic dysentery, aged 64 years, 1 month and 1_ days.

Mr. Talmadge was born near Waterbury, Conn. In 18__, he removed to Iowa, and settled n Howard county. In 1864 he again removed, going to Laporte Co., Indiana settling near Westville where he has since resided. On the 12th of July he came to Elkport to visit his son, W. E. Talmadge, and to assist him in building a residence. He was taken down about three weeks ago, but was not regarded as being in a dangerous condition until a few days ago when the doctors held a consultation, and decided that could not live. He leaves a wife and seven children to mourn his death. He was well liked by all who knew him, and was an excellent husband, a kind father and a true friend. The funeral occurred Wednesday afternoon, the remans being buried in the cemetery at East Elkport.
