Elkader Register, Thur., 10 July 1879.

Mr. J. Beckman, an old resident of Clayton, 76 years of age, died in that place on the 1st inst. He was father of Beckman Bros., was well known, having resided in the county for 21 years and was highly respected as a friend, neighbor and citizen. He leaves a widow and six grown children.
