Elkader Register, Thur., 10 July 1879. McGregor column.

On Sunday last, two men went out hunting near Prairie Du Chien, when a rain overtook them, and in getting out of the buggy at a house where they were to stop, the gun of one, Thomas Pench, was accidentally discharged, killing him instantly. He was night engineer at the elevator, and a married man. He leaves a small family.
