John McEvers 16 months boy met with a most unfortunate accident last week, by falling into a corn stalk fire burning his side and head severely. The little sufferer endured the terrible pain from Tuesday until Saturday, when death relieved him and his gentle spirit returned to the God who gave it.

Note: burial is in the old Garber cemetery, where he has a gravestone.
