Lundt, Hiram died 1879

Elkader Register, Thur., 08 May 1879.

Died - Lundt - At his residence in Volga township, on Friday, May 2nd, 1879, of paralysis of the brain, Hiram Lundt, Sr., aged 66 years.

The deceased had been at work all the forenoon grubbing and at noon came in feeling as well as usual, and after eating a hearty dinner, retired to his room to sleep an hour or so. Soon after his wife went to call him, only to find that a higher power than hers, had "called him from this world." Mr. Lundt was an old and respected resident of the county, and leaves many friends to mourn his loss

The funeral occurred on Friday, and was very largely attended. The sermon was delivered by Rev. Tremeyer.
