Elkader Register, Thur., 30 Nov. 1899. North Buena Vista column.

The death of Mrs. Henry B. Schmidt, of this place, caused much regret. She died last Monday morning at the age of 28 years. Her husband, three brothers and three sisters survive her. The funeral took place last Tuesday morning at the Holy Cross church with a very large attendance of relatives and friends, Rev. Father McCarthy officiating. Those attending from abroad were Louis Waldtinger, of Guttenberg, and Mr. and Mrs. A. Wiemold, of New Vienna. The cause of her early death was dropsy of the heart and her death has been expected for some time. The sorrowing husband has our sympathy.
