Elkader Register, Thur., 30 Nov. 1899.

At Omaha, Neb., on November 23rd, occurred the death of Bridget Lane, aged 77 years, 9 mos, and 21 days. Deceased was born in County Longford, February 2nd, 1822, and came to this county (country ?) when fifteen years old, remaining in New York City seven years, when she moved to South Bend, Ind., when on February the 12th, 1843, she was united in marriage to John S. Lane where they remained 3 years on a farm of their own (where now stands the city of South Bend.) To this union was born eight children, six of whom are living, Frank Lane, of Mederville, John Lane, South Omaha, Dave Lane, Mrs. Joe McLaughlin, Mrs. Wm. Daly, of Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. Michael Lane, of Elkader, whose husband died 4 years ago, and an aged sister Mrs. Alex White, of Monona, Ia., are left to mourn a kind and indulgent mother and loving sister.

Her remains were brought to the home of her son Frank, at Mederville, on Saturday last and on Sunday the last sad rites were conducted at the Sacred Heart church in Cox Creek, attended by many old friends and neighbors.

The remains of Mrs. Bridget McLane* arrived here on on the 10:37 train Saturday a.m., and were taken to the home of her son Frank, from where the funeral took place Sunday forenoon, followed by a large concourse of relatives and friends to Sacred Heart church on Cox Creek. She was 76 years old and a devoted Catholic. She leaves to mourn her loss a family of grown children.

Note: correct surname is LANE, as in the 1st obit. Burial Sacred Heart cemetery, Cox Creek
