Elkader Register, 07 Aug. 1896.
Ben S. Batchelder, who has been ill so long at his fathers home, in Hardin, went last Friday, to that other "Father's House of many Mansions." The funeral service was conducted by Rev. H. H. Green at the M.E. Church, of Hardin, and the burial took place at Watson. We who knew him and his works can but be thankful that his sufferings are over, for though we grieve for our loved ones when they are taken from us if we know all is "well with their souls" we can learn to say "thy will be done."
