Elkader Register, Thur., 20 Aug. 1925. Mederville column.
On Saturday morning, August 8th, occurred the death of Mrs. Floyd Kelly. Deceased had been in poor health for the past year, but at no time during her sickness did she show any signs of despair, but was hopeful to the last.
Mrs. Kelly, whose maiden name was Rose O'Haver, was born in the state of Wisconsin fifty-five years ago. Mrs. Kelly was a faithful wife, a devoted mother, a good neighbor. She was always ready to assist the needy. She leaves to mourn her departure her grief stricken husband and three children, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral was held from the home in Mederville on Monday afternoon, services conducted by the Salvationists from Oelwein.
The sermon was on the importance of always being prepared, that if we would die well, we must live well. The remains were laid to rest in the Mederville cemetery beside her mother who died just four months ago. May her soul rest in peace.
