Eva Lavinea Jones Walter, born May 24, 1859, in Wagner Twp., Clayton county, Iowa, and died in her home in Farmersburg August 6, 1925. She was a daughter of David Jones and Johanna House Jones, deceased, and was united in marriage with Henry Walter, January 1st, 1880. Six children were born to them; Earnest, of Farmersburg; Joseph, Maude (Mrs. Al Koth) of Wagner Twp.; Frank, Farmersburg; Gertrude (Mrs. Richard Looby), deceased; Earl of Farmersburg. Four brothers: Lincoln, Glendive, Montana; Clarence, Mason City, Iowa; Jeff, Postville, Iowa; Will, deceased. Two sisters: Mrs. Francis Coleman, Clovis, California; Mrs. Walter, Riceville, Iowa, deceased.
Besides these mentioned there are eleven grandchildren and other relatives and friends. After they were married they resided on a farm in Wagner Twp. until 1912 when they moved to Farmersburg.
In 1917 her daughter, Gertrude (Mrs. Richard Looby), died, leaving her little son, Clifford, who has made his home with her and husband ever since.
The deceased was a fine Christian, who loved God and her church, always ready to help the cause of the Lord. To her husband she was a true helpmate, to her children a true mother, to her friends a true friend, whom she beckons to prepare to meet her in Glory.
