Elkader Register, Thur., 18 June 1925. Farmersburg column, (To late for last week.)

Arno Schrader son of Mr. and Mrs. John Schrader, was born February 7, 1894, in Wagner township, Clayton County, Iowa, at the place he now lived and which has been his home nearly all his life.

As a boy he received his education in what is known as the Gooding School. Later he also attended the Sweenig Auto School at Kansas City for one term. He received religious instructions in the church at Farmersburg where he was confirmed. The later years he attended the Evangelical church not far from his home whenever his health would permit him to do so. On January 24, 1917, he was united in marriage to Hazel Englehardt to which have been born three sons. His health has been poorly for some years having asthma and other troubles. He was a patient sufferer however doing his work the best he could. While on account of his physical condition, he was not able to enjoy life as most people do. He was very fond of his home, his life companion and his children whom he dearly loved and in whom he took much comfort. He often said that he hoped that he might live until his boys were grown up. This privilege was not granted him but he has left them to a kind Heavenly Father who will provide. His condition became worse during the last weeks but his passing away at this time was unexpected to his folks. The end of his earthly career came Tuesday, June 2, 1925, shortly after noon. Having attained the age of 31 years, 3 months and 26 days.

He leaves his wife, three sons, Ralph, Bernhardt and Louis, parents, one sister, Mrs. James Mathews, Jr., of Farmersburg, besides other relatives and friends.

Services were held Thursday afternoon at the home and in the church which was very largely attended. Rev. O. A. Hillman officiated. Burial in the cemetery by the church.
