Mr. Joseph Refle was born in Buffalo, New York, February 29th, 1856, and died early in the morning of June 7th, 1925, having reached the age of 69 years, 4 months and six days.
In 1892 he was married to Miss Magdalena Stemmer. To this union were born nine children, two preceding their father in death. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Josie Brink of Volga City, and Flossie and four sons William, Harry, Walter and George at home and one sister, Mrs. Menges of Arlington.
He has lived in the Elkport community since he was two years old. He was an honest, upright and industrious man. He will be greatly missed by his family as a kind and loving husband and father, and by the community as an obliging and helping neighbor and true friend.
Services were held at the home at 2:00 o'clock last Tuesday afternoon. Interment was made in Union Cemetery, Rev. W. J. Lewihake officiating. - Volga City News.
