Elkader Register, Thur., 11 June 1925.
An aged resident of Clayton County is called to her reward. Wilhelmine Lackner was born June 1st, 1835, in Schoenburg, Germany. At the age of 24 years she was married to George Hennig. To this union four children were born, Frederick, August, George and Anna. In 1867 her husband died as the result of an accident. Seven years later she was married to Michael Missun. This union was blessed with four children, three daughters and one son. After the death of her second husband, which occurred in 1893, the widowed mother made her home with her children in the old country until she came to America in 1901 to find a home with her children who had settled in Clayton County.
Although small in stature, Mrs. Missun had a strong constitution and was a hard worker all her life. For the last few years she made her home with her son Frederick Hennig and family, but after his death in December of last year it was her wish to be with her daughter, Mrs. Henry Fascher in Boardman township. Her wish was granted. On her 90th birthday anniversary she fell off a chair and for some time suffered as the result of the fall, but again she rallied, until about four weeks ago when she began to fail visibly. Everything possible was done for her at the Fascher home by loved ones to give relief and comfort until she went to rest on Wednesday morning, June 10, 1925, at the age of 90 years, 5 months and 9 days.
She leaves five children as follows:
George Hennig in Germany.
August Hennig in Canada.
Mrs. Henry Fascher, Boardman township.
Mrs. Minnie Rath in Germany.
Mrs. Lena Bank, McGregor, Iowa. She also leaves 22 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Friday) afternoon, June 12th, at 1:00 o'clock at the Henry Fascher home and at 2:00 o'clock at the Evangelical church. Interment will be in the East Side cemetery.
