Our community was shocked Saturday morning when it became known that Mrs. C. Brabrandt had passed away during the early morning hours. Mrs. Brabrandt had a hard sick spell in the early spring from which she had never gained back her strength. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brabrandt, Otto Brabrandt, of Chicago, Mrs. L. Sprecker of Lanark, Ill., were called home Saturday by the death of their mother, Mrs. C. Brabrandt.

Wilhelmine Louise Prigge was born July 6, 1846, in Bertkow county of Ostenburg, Germany, and passed into eternal rest May 23, 1925. She was confirmed in the Lutheran church of which she remained a consistent member. In 1873 Miss Prigge was united in marriage to Christian Brabrandt. A few years later the young couple came to the United States and settled in Volga. To them were born Fred and Otto of Chicago, Mrs. William Sprecher of Lanark, Ill., and Mrs. K. W. Duff of Volga. Mrs. Brabrandt leaves a husband, four children and seven grandchildren to mourn the loss of a true wife, a devoted mother and a lovable woman. Her many friends will miss her cheerful smile. The funeral was held from the Presbyterian church Monday afternoon, Rev. A. Polk officiating. Interment in Hill Crest cemetery.

Note: Death certificate & other records spell surname BRABANDT rather than Brabrandt
