Elkader Register, Thur., 14 May 1925. Graham column.

The neighborhood here were grieved to hear of the death of Sam Martin Saturday last at Turkey River. Mr. Martin carried our mail here from Turkey River for several years and later was changed to carry from Turkey River by way of Millville and Luxemberg. Had he lived until July would have been mail carrier for twenty years. He leaves to mourn his wife, and two daughters. Interment today at Strawberry Point. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved family.

(Note: WPA records indicate Samuel A. Martin, 1866 - 1925, buried in Strawberry Point cemetery.)
