The death of Mrs. Cora Steele occurred last Tuesday at the home of her daughter Mrs. E. A. Horsefield at Oelwein and were brought here Thursday afternoon where funeral services occurred in the Congregational church conducted by Rev, Maxwell. Last November Mr. and Mrs. Steele on account of poor health went to stay with their daughter and Mr. Steele lived only a short time his death occurring Nov. 8, 1924. Since that time Mrs. Steele gradually failed. Her friends from here would often go over and see her and she was always so pleased. Mrs. Steele was the victim of a stroke a few years ago followed by others; from these she never fully recovered. Her son-in-law and daughter gave her the best care and medical attention but death relieved her of all suffering last Tuesday. Interment took place beside the husband in our beautiful cemetery. Besides her daughter at Oelwein she leaves a host of relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
