Gilbert Anderson passed away at Gunder, February 23. He came to Clayton county over forty years ago, was quite well known in this community as he was a carpenter by trade and there are many buildings which he erected during his years of activity that will stand for many years to his memory as a builder.
Gilbert Anderson was born Oct. 15, 1858, and was 66 years, 4 months and 8 days old at the time of his death. He was born in Winneshiek County, Iowa, and was married to Emma Olson May 18, 1878. There were four children born to this union, two of whom have preceded the father, the son, Alvin having died June 19, 1906, and one daughter, Nellie died February 3rd, 1925. Those who survive to mourn his loss are: His wife and two daughters, Mrs. Alice Larson, of Douglas, N. Dak., and Mrs. Leona Oakley of Center City, Iowa. Interment was made at Norway cemetery February 26, Rev. Tysdal officiating, and Undertaker N. H. Nelson of Clermont having charge of the funeral. - Clermont Enterprise.
