Elkader Register, Fri. morning, 14 May 1897. St. Olaf column.
On Monday, May 10th, 1897, at his home three miles west of St. Olaf, occurred the death of Ole Wald in the 48th year of his age, after an illness of only two days. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn the loss of a kind and indulgent husband and father. The funeral services were held at the Norwegian Lutheran church, of Wagner, and was attended by the many friends of the family.

Ole O. Wold, whose death occurred at his home in Waner twp., May 10th, 1897, after an illness of only two days, was born at Jefferson Prairie, Wis., Feb. 2d, 1849. At the age of five years he came to Wagner twp. with his parents.
On May 2, 1871, he was united in marriage with Miss Karen Olson, their home being blessed with seven children, four girls and three boys, all surviving except the youngest son, who died about three years ago. The deceased was a highly respected citizen and neighbor and his loss is deeply regretted.
The funeral was held at the Norway Lutheran church on May 12th, in the presence of a large number of sorrowing friends and relatives, Rev. Gjerstad conducting the services.
