Elkader Register, Fri. morning, 05 Mar. 1897. From an article detailing the deaths of four Fleming siblings.

Emma Purley Fleming, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Fleming, died Feb. 18, 1897, of diptheria, aged 14 years and 14 days. She was born Feb. 4, 1883. She was always looking out for the comfort of those around her and trying to help others along.
