Elkader Register, Friday morning, 12 Feb. 1897. Elkport and Vicinity column.

The 12 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Fleming, of Elk twp., died Saturday of diptheria. The bereaved parents have the sympathy of hosts of friends in their sad affliction. There are no other cases in that vicinity.

Elkader Register, Fri. morning, 05 Mar. 1897. From an article detailing the deaths of four Fleming children.

Died on the 6th of Feb., 1897, of diptheria, Margrett Alma Fleming, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. W. Fleming, aged 10 years, 10 months and 5 days. She was born April 1, 1886. She was always patient and contented with what ever came her way and making friends with every one she became acquainted with.
