Elkader Register, Thur., 01 Nov. 1900. Strawberry Point column.

The death of Mrs. John Jewell occurred at her home in this city, Sunday, at the age of 60 years, 8 months and 4 days. She had been sick for a long time and had the loving care of husband, children and friends. Through her long illness she never uttered a word of complaint and never dreaded the passing away. She has been a faithful member of the M.E. church for 44 years and has always been an earnest and faithful worker. She was the mother of nine children, all being present at the funeral. Besides the husband and children she leaves many friends to mourn her death. The funeral was held at the M.E. church Tuesday conducted by W. A. Gibbons.
