Verdell Benjamin Hulbert son of Ninabell (Abel)and Ben Hulbert, was born Mar 18 1926, on a farm near Strawberry Point. He died in his sleep at his home in Clermont, early Wednesday morning, Sept 11 1963.

As an infant he was baptized into the German Lutheran faith at the Lutheran Church at Elkader. Later he was confirmed in the West Clermont Lutheran Church, where he became a member.
He recieved his education in the public schools of Allamakee and Clayton counties.

He was united in marriage to Leanna Jane Osmundson on Oct 2 1948, at the Little Borwn Church at Nashua, by the Rev. Hanscom.
To this union was born on son, Terry Lee, on Spet 30 1951.

Theyt were engaged in farming at the home place near Wadena. In 1950 they purchased a home in Clermont where he resided until the time of his death.

He operated the Sinclair station at Wadena for eight and a half years. In December of 1962, he was transferred to Clermont to operate the Sinclair station.

Survivors include his wife, Leanna, one son, Terry; his mother and father, Mr and Mrs Ben Hulbert, Wadena; and his mother-in-law, Mrs Helen Osmundson, who made her home with them the past 13 years; and a host of relatives and friends.
Verdell was a devoted husband and father and son. The welfare of his family was foremost in his thoughts.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Spet 14 at 2p.m. at the West Clermont Lutheran Church, with the Rev Roger Peterson officiationg. Burial was made at God's Acres.

Pallbearers were Duane Thompson, John Metzger, Leo Woods, Robert John Schupanitz, Dean Jennings, and James Anderson.

Schutte Funeral Home, Postville, was in charge of arrangements.
