Obituary of Mrs Ben Hulbert [1973]
Funeral services were held Monday, June 25 at the Burnham Wood Funeral Home for Mrs Ben Hulbert. She died June 21 at LaCrosse Lutheran Hospital. Pastor Clarence Johnson conducted the funeral with burial in God's Acres Cemetery, Clermont.
Pallbearers were: John Gage, Paul Kuhens, Faye Whittenaugh, Glen Heckroth, Russell Popenhagen, Cecil Davis.

Ninabell Gladys Abel Hulbert was born Jan 19, 1901 near Garnavillo. She was one of nine children born to August and Mamie Moon Abel. She attended the schools near Monona.

On Sept 22 1919, she was married to Ben Hulbert at McGregor. One son, Verdell, was born to them.

All of her married life was spent of farms in Clayton and Fayette counties. Ninabell had many interests and hobbies in life and lived life to the fullest. She was concerned over the welfare of friends and relatives and was ever ready and willing to help when needed. Her home was always open to everyone.

She was preceded in deth by her son, Verdell; her parents; one sister, Violet Bhen; three brothers, Corwin, Harry and Wayne.

She is survived by her husband, Ben, who is residing at the Good Samaritan Home in West Union; one grandson, Terry, and his wife, Kathy, Postville; daughter-in-law, LeAnna, Clermont; two sisters, Fern Bixeban, Lewistown, Montana; and Grace, Mrs Allen Ballard, West Union; two brothers, Loren and Donald of Lewistown, Montana; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
