Curley Hulbert Rites:
Curley C (Jack) Hulbert, 75, of New Hampton died Sunday evening at Saint Joseph Community Hospital, New Hampton.
Funeral services for Mr. Hulbert were at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, from the Conway Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Lawrence J. Hartley of the First United methodist Church officiating. Jack Kendall was soloist and Philip Batchelder was organist. Music included "How Great Thou Art."
Interment was at the New Hampton Cemetery with Albert Franzen, Greg Pitz, Clarence Haugh, Joe Berka, Marlin Nystel and Ted Moldenhauer as casket bearers. Fae Stine Post 38 of the American Legion presented the flag at the grave side services. A prayer service was held Tuesday evening at the chapel.
Curley C. Hulbert was born April 2, 1903, in Clayton County, the son of George and Bertha (Alitz) Hulbert. He attended Clayton County schools and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. On August 7, 1948, he was married to the former Joyce Ingalls at Mt. Rose. They lived in the Fredericksburg and New Hampton areas after their marriage and Mr. Hulbert was employed as a plasterer.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; three sons, Jack Jr. of Charles City, Jerry of Fredericksburg and Jim at home; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Jessie Behrens of Elkader; and a brother, Ben Hulbert of West Union.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and four brothers.
