Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Sass, who passed away last week following an emergency operation, were read to a church full of mourners last Friday. Burial was made at the Giard cemetery.
Lena Claudy Sass was born March 22, 1885 and died February 27, 1929. She spent all her life in and around McGregor. For many years after she married Henry Sass, she lived on a farm.
Four children were born to them: Charles, Albert, Margaret and Franklin. All the children survive her, as does a sister, Mrs. Charlotte Durfee of Waterloo, who was called here by her death.
After the death of her husband 13 years ago, Mrs. Sass took up the burdens of a family and has since been its sole support. She has been a thrifty business woman and a good provider. She became a Sunday School worker and a member of the Business and Professional Woman's club.
