DIED - Emma Scott, nee Horne, was born in the city of Durham, England, July 25th, 1828 and died at McGregor April 25th, 1902.

The deceased was married to W.J. Scott May 26th, 2856 at New Castle on the Tyne, England. Two years after their marriage they came to America. They settled in 1859 at Edgerton, Rock county, Wis. They moved to Clayton county the following year where they engaged in farming in Mendon township. A year ago they came to the city to reside in the little cottage on the hill side where she passed to yonder shore Friday April 25th.

She leaves her husband, two foster children, Hulbert Scott and Emma Merritt, a sister, Mrs. Wells of Elkader, and her nephew H.B. Horne of this city, to mourn her loss.

She was laid to rest Sunday afternoon, Rev. Francis officiating.
