The sad news reached this place on Sunday, of the death during the forenoon of Miss Etta Wilson in the hospital at Burlington, Iowa. She had been in that city for a short time caring for children, as she was in the employ of a children's home, at Alma, Wis.

The deceased was born at Austin, Wis., on the 23rd of June, 1884, and during her life, with the exception of baby-hood, she has been a resident of this city. Her sickness was typhoid fever, of about two weeks duration.

Owing to the contagious nature of the disease her relatives and friends were not able to attend her. The remains reached this city last night in a sealed casket, and the funeral is held this afternoon at two o'clock at the Methodist church. Interment in Oakland cemetery.

The remaining relatives have the sympathy of the entire community in their affliction.

~North Iowa Times, Thursday, March 19, 1903; pg 5

Notes: Daughter of Thomas O. & Melissa (Mason) Wilson. Oakland cemetery is aka Pleasant Grove.
