Elkader Register, Thur., 14 Dec. 1922. Strawberry Point column.

Word comes from Edgewood announcing the death of Cal Kirk, formerly of this place, Interment will probably take place here, beside his wife who preceded him in death a number of years ago. He leaves one daughter, Miss Margaret, besides other relatives to mourn his death.

(Note: An apparent reference to John C. Kirk, 1848 - 10 Dec. 1922, shown in WPA records as buried in Strawberry Point cemetery.)
