Mary Ann Templeman was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Templeman and was born in Boardman township west of Elkader, Aug. 6th, 1857. She grew to womanhood on the home farm receiving her education in the Elkader schools. She was married to Garner Lloyd Dec. 25th, 1876, and they engaged in farming until about 1890 when they moved to Elkader, accompanied by Mrs. Lloyd's parents. As the years passed her husband and parents were called to the great beyond and in 1912 she was married to E. B. Kelly, who died in 1913. Shortly after Mr. Kelly's death Mrs. Kelly went to Des Moines where she has since resided.
