Pearl Wilhelmina Knuth came to this world Dec. 3rd, 1908, at St. Olaf, Iowa. She was received into the kingdom of her redeemer through the sacrament of baptism administered by Rev. F. Gadow Jan. 14, 1909. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Knuth, nee Mandelkow, of St. Olaf.
Her health had only been slightly impaired for several weeks, but nothing to be alarmed about. Sunday October 15th she complained about intense pain in her side. A doctor being summoned gave his best service and all her loved ones left nothing undone, but love could not hold the fleeing life any more. Monday evening Oct. 16th at 6:45 she passed into a better world, at the age of 14 years, 10 months and 13 days.
She leaves besides her bereaved parents 3 brothers and three sisters, Arthur, William, and Edwin, Sylvia, Mrs. Kirsch, Mahila, Mrs. Steen, Alma at home.
The funeral exercises were held Thursday Oct. 19th from the family home at St. Olaf to St. John's Lutheran church. Interment was made in the F. and W. Cemetery. Rev. G. F. Braun of Farmersburg officiated and the St. Olaf Lutheran choir furnished very beautiful music.
