Last Tuesday evening occurred the death of Franz Miller aged 85 years, at the home of his daughter Mrs. Phin Weig, where he and Mrs. Miller have been making their home. Mr. Miller despite his advanced age has been in good health until last spring when he began to gradually fail. Like many pioneers he has endured hardships and lived to see great pieces of timberland change into prosperous farms. The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Lutheran church conducted by Rev. Rembold of Arlington in German and English, Besides his aged wife who is blind he leaves four daughters and one son, Mrs. Rose Freiheit of Minnesota, Mrs. Hattie Bartels and Mrs. Kate Weig of this place, Mrs. Sophia Lawrence of Dundee and Fred Miller of this place to mourn his loss. Interment took place in our beautiful cemetery.
