After an illness of four days Mrs. Wm Grannis died Sunday morning at 5 o'clock at the boarding house of Mrs. Mary Bullard, on Bluff street. She was the wife of Mr. Wm. Grannis, traveling salesman for Wemott, Howard & Co. At the time of her sickness he was away, and on hearing of her illness was unable to return before Monday morning, then only to find her whom he had left in good health a corpse and prepared for burial.
Yesterday the remains were taken to Earlville for interment, where Mrs. Grannis' parents reside.

Note: She was the 2nd w/o William Grannis, Capt. of Co. D, 21st IA Inf. She is residing in Read twp., Clayton county as of the 1860 U.S. census; named as Laura R. Knapp, age 23, in the household of T.C. Palmer. Also in household are Wm. T. Knapp, age 6 and Emma R. Knapp, age 1.
