Elkader Register, Thur., 27 Apr. 1922.

Michael Lynch, a resident of Read township, died at his home last Friday, April 21st, at the age of 63 years, 3 months and three days.

He was born Jan. 18th, 1859, and was married to Miss Rose Brannon at Lawler, Iowa, on April 27th, 1897. Five children were born to them: Frank, Luella, Florence, Clarence and Stella Bernice. The daughter Stella Bernice preceding her father in death on February 14th, 1907.

He is survived by his wife, four children, two sisters, Mrs. Kate Shekleton of this place and Mrs. Mike Rogers of Dubuque, also one brother Dr. Lynch of Ossian.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at 10:00 o'clock in St. Joseph's church, conducted by Father Taken, and the remains were laid to rest in St. Joseph's cemetery.

Tom Brennan and Mrs. John Costigan of Lawler, John Brannon of Waterloo, Mrs. Ida Finnegan of Elkport, Mr. and Mrs. Dyer Hall, Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Dalen of Strawberry Point, and Dr. Lynch of Ossian were in attendance at the funeral.
