Added by S. Ferrall 6/16/2020:
Karoline Eberling Klingeman was born March 2d, 1834, in Hanover, Germany, baptised March 14th, of the same year; confirmed March 22, 1848; married to Fritz Klingeman March 12th, 1863.
She immigrated to this country in 1877 and lived first in St. Louis, Mo., with some relatives, then for 15 years on a farm in Madison County, Illinois; Giard Township, Clayton County, Iowa one year; Monona township, 5 years; Farmersburg, three years; and not quite 22 years in Monona.
She is the mother of 6 sons, two daughters, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
June 29th, 1895 she lost the husband and in August 1890 her daughter, Mrs. Henkes died.
She has been a member of St. Paul Lutheran Congregation of Monona before and after moving to this town and up to the year 1915 a regular communicant. Old age and its infirmities kept her from public worship during the last years of her life.
A cold developing into pneumonia caused her death April 5th, near noon, 1922. She lived 88 years, one month, and we hope her soul is now with the Savior, into whose death and life she was baptized, whose word she heard quite regularly. May saving faith have come to her by such hearing of the Word of God.
Mourners are: F.O. Klingeman, Spring Valley, Minn.; Louis Klingeman, Spring Valley, Minn.; A.J. and C.H. of Monona; H.L. of St. Cloud, Minn.; Caroline, Monona; and grandchildren: Mrs. Emma Kohn, Amanda Baade, W. Klingeman, Ella Hess, Fred Klingeman; Eldo, Orville, Evelyn; Adeline, Eleanor and Woodrow Klingeman, great grandchildren Theodore and John Baade, Monona township; Doris Hess, Spring Valley, Minnesota.
Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, April 8th at 2:P.M. interment in St. Paul's cemetery.
