Fatal Accident in Clayton County.
Elkader Register:—At his home in Read township, on Monday evening, Aug. 27th, occurred the death of Chas. Lynch, as the result of an accident. He was on his way home from Elkader with a load of ground feed, the sacks being loaded high above the wagon box, when in turning to speak to Michael Rogers, who was behind him with another team, the sacks slipped and he was thrown to the ground, striking in such a manner as to injure the spinal chord. Mr. Lynch was taken home and medical attendance summoned, but it was of no avail.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in St. Joseph’s Cemetery and was born Oct. 1859.
