Obituary—Hodge.
E. M. Hodge, who died at his home in Clinton Monday, April 18, after a brief illness caused by pneumonia, was born at Shipman, Ill., fifty-five years ago. He was united in marriage at Clayton, this county, to Miss Sharp, a daughter of Henry Sharp of that place and sister of Mrs. J. C. Kuempel of this city. Surviving besides his wife and one daughter, the latter Mrs. H. L. Boynton of Wheaton, Ill., are his aged mother, residing at Washington, D. C., one brother, W. D. Hodge of Denver, Col., and two sisters Mrs. Martha Oliver, of Woodbury, Ill. and Mrs. Harry Wood of Washington, D. C. Deceased had been a resident of Clinton the past twenty-five years, employed there as machinist by the C. & N. W. railway company and where he was held in the highest esteem by a large circle of friends. The body was shipped to Clayton last Thursday where interment was made under auspices of the M. W. A., of which order deceased was a prominent member.
