LUANA: This community was grieved when it learned that Robert Lyman Collins had passed away at his home at 2:20 Monday afternoon, Dec. 11th, at the age of 57 years, of pneumonia. He was born in Franklin township, Allamakee county, Iowa, Nov. 4, 1876, living on a farm north of Luana and obtaining his education in the rural school nearby, and was the mainstay of his aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Collins. They all moved to Luana in 1915, and Robert very tenderly cared for for his parents until they passed away some 11 years ago. On Feb. 1, 1921, he was united in marriage to Miss Minnie Krambeer. To this union were born four children, Eugene, Margaret Mae, Carlton and Robert, all of whom, with the stricken wife, survive him. He also left a sister, Mrs. Frank Bloxham, of Postville, and a brother, Wright, of Missouri, and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral occurred on Thursday afternoon from the Methodist church, Rev. Joslyn, the pastor, officiating. A large number of relatives and neighbors gathered Thursday afternoon to pay their last respects to one they respected very much. The floral offerings were beautiful. He was laid to rest in the Luana city cemetery.
