Clayton County Register, Thur., 07 Dec. 1933.

GUTTENBERG: Mrs. Jennie Morrill (nee Frey) peacefully passed away at her home here last Thursday afternoon, Nov. 30, 1933, at 11:40 o'clock, at the age of 45 years, eight months and two days, following an illness of a few month's duration. Mrs. Morrill was born in Guttenberg, Iowa, where the greater part of her ambitious and true Christian life was spent. She was a graduate of the local high school and for some time was successfully engaged as a teacher in the schools of Clayton county. She was married to Geo. Morrill, who preceded her in death a number of years ago. Her father, Emil Frey, and two brothers, John and George Frey, have also preceded her in death. Mrs. Morrill also resided at Tampa, Fla., Nauvoo and Rock Island, Ill. Of late years she was employed at the office of the Ed. P. Eberhard Lumber Co. here. She was a member of the M.E. church, having been a choir member and Sunday School teacher in that church here. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and Rebekah lodges and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion. For the good of church and social circles, she was a tireless worker. To do acts of kindness for her loved ones and friends was her greatest pleasure in life at all times, and her memories will be forever cherished by all who knew her. Her kind and loving disposition won her many friends. All was done for her that could bee done to save her life, but all failed when the Angel of Death called her to the Great Beyond last Thursday. During her illness she was a patient sufferer. Her death is deeply mourned by her aged mother, Mrs. Emil Frey; one brother, Thomas Frey, booth of Guttenberg; and by many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss this this good and true woman. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. D. D. Welch of Dubuque at the Frey home in this city Sunday afternoon, with burial in the city cemetery. The funeral was largely attended, which showed that deceased was held in high esteem by all who knew her.
