Albinus Bauer passed away at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Stoeffler, here Saturday morning at 12:30 o'clock at the age of 75 years. The body was taken to Rock Island, Ill., for burial. Mr. Bauer was born at Dubuque on March 1, 1858. He was married to Miss Pauline Jaeger. For 50 years he was employed as a machinist at the C.M. & St.P. R.R. Co, shops at Dubuque, retiring three years ago. Mr. Bauer was a member of the C.M. & St.P. R.R. Shops Veteran Society, and the International Association of Machinists, No. 379. Of late he had been at the Andrew Stoeffler home here on an extended stay. The Bauer family at one time resided here in Guttenberg. Deceased had been ill for about two years previous to his death. He was familiarly known here and at Dubuque as "Al Bauer," and was a well-read man in every respect. His death is deeply mourned by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Mae Bewer of Rock Island, Ill., and Mrs. Rose Schmidt of Dubuque; three sons, Joseph, George and Leo Bauer of Dubuque; several grandchildren; one brother, Frank Bauer, of Dubuque; and by numerous other relatives and friends, by whom he will sadly be missed.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at Rock Island, Ill.
