DIED - At her home one mile east of Wood, on May 24, Mrs. John Hamlett, in her 24th year.
Mamie Dodds was born near Greeley April 18, 1876, and was married to John Hamlett March 22, 1896.
The deceased was for some time a great sufferer from a complication of diseases. She was kind of heart and patient, exhibiting a great tenacity of life, although she had very little hope of recovery.
She leaves a father and mother, husband and two small children, three sisters and one brother, beside a host of friends, to mourn her loss.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Lash, of Edgewood, at the Wood school house, where she had attended school and Sabbath School all her life. The profusion of floral offerings evidenced the anxiety of friends to pay a last tribute to her memory. The remains were laid to rest in the Edgewood cemetery.
--Mr. & Mrs. Goodhaul of Strawberry Point, were here Saturday attending the funeral of her sister, J. Hamlett's wife.
Will Halstead and wife of Strawberry Point attended the funeral of Mrs. Hamlett.
Tom Hamlett and his sister Nettie arrived her Saturday morning from Kirksville, Missouri, to attend the funeral of their brother's wife.
