The 'LaCrosse Chronical' of the 5th contained the announcement of the death of Geo. Shadbolt, who was born in McGregor, Feb. 7, 1862. He moved to La Crosse about ten years ago and was employed in the jewelry store of his brother-in-law, David Drummond where he learned the business.
He was two years in business at Fergus Falls, Minnesota, then returned to LaCrosse, was united in marriage to Miss Mary Eaton, daughter of Mrs. C.H. Eaton, and entered into partnership with Mr. Drummond. This business relation was dissolved about a year and a half ago and not long after Mr. Shadbolt opened a store at Muskegon, Michigan, where he was doing a good business and enjoyed fully the confidence and respect of the community.
George had a great many warm friends who feel deeply the shock of his most unexpected death. The fatal disease was inflammation of the bowels with which he was attacked Sunday night last. The sorrowing relatives and especially the suddenly bereaved young widow, will have the sympathy of all.
