Mrs. Margaret McLaughlin, nee Humphrey, died at the family residence Thursday afternoon after a several months illness. She was born at Monona, June 22, 1857. On Jan. 10, 1888, she was married at Monona to John McLaughlin of Elkader where they made their home until 1920 when they moved to McGregor. She is survived by four sons, James and John of Gary, Ind., Leo and Mac of McGregor and two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Mahoney and Geraldine McLaughlin at home. There are nine grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. W, A. Nolan of Plankinton, S. Dak. and Mrs. E. E. Beers of Gary, Ind. Her husband and three children preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Saturday at ten a.m. at St Joseph's church in Elkader, Rev. J. J. Horsfield of McGregor officiating. Interment was in St. Joseph's cemetery.

Nolan of Plankinton, S. Dak.; Mrs. J. Hayes and Mrs. E. Schoekency and Mrs. J. J. Foran of Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Susan Radke and Clarence Lathan of Chicago; May McCarthy of Sturges, Mo.; Mrs. Mary Cain, Mrs. F. Molumby, Mrs. T. Kaveny of Waukon; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Assmus of Independence; Mr. and Mrs. J. Roerig of Winnebago, Minn.; Mary Margaret Grady of Minneapolis; Mrs. John Honzel of Dubuque; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Pier and Mrs. E. Jumbura of Prairie du Chien, and a host of friends and relatives of Elkader and Monona.
